Head of Pre-Prep's Welcome

Kingscote School was established in 1965 as the Pre-Preparatory School for Thorpe House and provides a happy, stimulating and challenging introduction to school for boys aged 3-7 years. We were delighted to become a part of Thorpe House again in September 2012 and revert to the situation of being two fully integrated schools as was the case at the foundation in 1964.  

 

At the Pre-Prep you will find a warm, friendly and secure family environment in which your son will thrive. Boys usually join us in the Nursery class and continue through to Year 2 before joining the Prep School in Year 3.

 

Whilst each religious affiliation is recognised and respected, Thorpe House School has a Church of England foundation and inherent Christian values. Boys of other denominations and faiths are warmly welcomed and are very much part of our school.

 

Small classes enable the class teacher to provide a one to one education tailored to the needs of each boy so that individual potential can be nurtured and realised.

 

As experts in the care and education of young boys, our aim is to inspire your son with a love of learning and a belief in his own abilities, to stretch him beyond what he thinks he can do, and to give him the confidence to not be afraid of making mistakes.

 

Above all we believe that by ensuring that your son is truly happy here, we will enable him to achieve his full potential.

 

As well as encouraging your son's academic success, we never forget what it means to be a child. We will share his delight in discovering new things and his excitement when he masters something new because above all we want to nurture his enthusiasm.

 

When your son enters the Pre-Prep, we take the trust that you place in us very seriously and we welcome your full involvement with your son's education, either informally at the end of the school day, or more formally at a parents' evening.
